Resolve "Failed to Connect to Computer" issues
Hello,
In last few days one computer reports alert Failed to Connect to Computer few times per day.
Now, I would like to start troubleshooting and find out what caused that state and what is the problem. Can you please what should I open through SCOM console to find useful information?
Manager client is Windows XP SP3, with SCOM 2007 R2.
Thnx.

Hello John,
For agent troubleshooting through scom console you can try couple of things:
-Open the health explorer against the agent under monitoring workspace and see what is causing there...
-Clear the HealthService queue and config from the console
-Bounce the HealthService on the agent. Sometime this helps in resolving the issues. Look at the event log on the agent for possible log
-Try repairing scom agent from the console. Go to administrative workspace - agent managed - right click the agent and repair

First of all, Failed to Connect to Computer means MS cannot contact the client through ping.
Reason of this may be come from network connectivity issue between MS and client, client is busy to response the ping request and so on...
For troubleshoot, you may open client instance health explorer and navigate the rule
ping status and click the state change events to see the result of the ping status.
